Taken for granted sometimes in North American churches, the opportunity to conduct Sunday School programs is a wonderful blessing to the Bible-preaching churches of Russia. SGA is privileged to help support the need for curricula, Bibles, literature and supplies for Sunday School programs across the CIS.

During the communist years, which officially ended in 1991, evangelical churches across the USSR were not permitted to teach the Bible to anyone under the age of eighteen. Now that they are free to do so, much time, prayer, and labor is going into the development of biblically-sound Sunday school programs for the children, and biblical youth programs for the teenagers, all across the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

SGA partners assist by helping to provide Russian-language children’s Bibles and literature, as well as Sunday school curriculum developed by Russian churches for the unique needs of Russian children. In addition, SGA partners are helping to print and distribute a Russian-language version of Dr. John MacArthur’s excellent children’s theology entitled “A Faith to Grow On”.

We also help supply the churches with flannel-graphs and other key foundational materials for effective children’s outreach. Christian education materials are also being developed for the beginning of adult Sunday school classes, which are vitally important to the overall goal – . . . equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:12).
